He holds a doctorate in American history from the University of Oklahoma where he specialized in Indigenous history. Prior to arriving at Kenyon, Bottiger taught at Florida Gulf Coast University and Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, Canada. Bottiger is on the harder side of Kenyon teachers although not incredibly difficult, but he is also an exceptionally good teacher making class both enjoyable, while teaching you how to actually be a historian at a more Grad school level.
